Speech modification for adults

Some people hear from colleagues they can be hard to understand. It could be an accent or something unusual. Examples of help from non-medical speech therapy:

  • A podiatrist was afraid of stuttering “L” words during her surgical rotation.

  • A college professor picked up an English “R” at Oxford, and his New Jersey students were confused.
A tech executive from Viet Nam said different sounds at the ends of words (K instead of G).
A candidate for teaching high school had trouble saying biology words clearly.

Non-medical speech therapy services:

  • Accent modification

  • Professional or technical language

  • Stuttering management tools (may be available as medical)

  • Matching Identity to Voice

Speech services for adults without a language disorder are not expected to be covered by insurance. Some employers may pay for professional development.

Stuttering is not currently covered by insurance in New Jersey, and it is unlikely to be covered for adults with no other disability.

Fostered youth without insurance can get our support at any age.

We’re accepting new clients for speech therapy in NJ.
